WE NEED YOUR HELP:
| We are willing to trap feral cats if you know of any farmers that would like cats for mousers. Contact us either by email (mitchellanimalrescue@yahoo.com) or phone (605-770-2170). |
Mitchell Animal Rescue has received a matching grant from the Mitchell Area Charitable Foundation for a spay and neuter program for the less fortunate in the Mitchell community and Davison County. We also received funding from the former Osterhaus committee to put towards this great program. We will soon begin taking applications and, based on your income, we will subsidize spay/neuter for your pet. Once your application has been approved, you will be given a voucher to take to the participating vet of your choice.
Email us at mitchellanimalrescue@yahoo.com to request an application by email or call Kathie at 999-2524 to pick one up. Thank you.

This beautiful Baldwin Organ was donated to us from an adult household. Great condition. $350 OBO. Proceeds will help us save even more animals.
With the nice weather coming, your pets will be more likely to want to dash outside. Please watch them closely and keep them on a leash or in your yard. There will be more traffic and more chance that your pet may be hurt or worse. | |

Spring is coming and along with it is mating season. Please be responsible and have your pet spayed or neutered. Help us prevent overpopulation of the shelter. There are other benefits to spaying or neutering your pet. It’s safer for the animal and it prevents cancer and other illnesses. Unaltered males can get prostrate cancer just like humans; unaltered females can get ovarian or uterine cancers just like humans also. Spaying and neutering can prevent these types of cancers. |
Mitchell has a leash law that requires ALL pets to be on a leash when off your personal property. With the weather improving, it is sometimes tempting to let your pet out to do his or her business without a leash because he or she has never left your property before. It only takes one time and in the blink of an eye they are gone. Not only does this violate the leash law, but it is NOT SAFE for your pet. They don't know to stay off the streets or to avoid cars or other animals. PLEASE keep your pets on a leash or in a fenced in yard, not only for their safety, but to prevent unwanted litters. Please be responsible pet owners - think of them when you let them out the door.
